I am his grandaughter,his son Athol William Howell was my father.He lived with my parents when they were firstmarried ,when he had had his leg amputated after a tram accident in 1947, and then me when I was born in 1952,until he moved to Ranfurly War Veterans home in Oct 1972 where he died on 22nd May 1974.
