Note
I was researching the Llewell family who are distant cousins and came upon four brothers who enlisted between 1914-18. Albert George, the eldest was badly wounded at Gallipoli and invalided home in 1916. He later lost use of a leg and died in 1940 aged 58. John William contracted pneumonia and died in New Zealand in 1916. James was killed on the Somme in 1916 and the youngest Arthur Thomas was killed at Passchendaele in 1917. The movie " Saving Private Ryan " told a similar story about World War Two. What a terrible sacrifice for the Llewell family. I am surprised this story has seemingly remained untold.
Rest in peace -Albert, John, James and Arthur-you will be remembered.
