Note
William Gilbert HENRY, was a 2nd Lieutenant, NZ Rifle Brigade, 4th battalion, C Company. He was heavily involved and "Wounded in Action & remained on Duty" on 10th August 1917 and again the following day. He was at the Battle of Passchendaele in October 1917. A man who by all accounts, was popular with his troops. He was the subject of Court Martial twice for being (behind the lines I might add) found, "...when on active service, (to be affected by) Drunkenness". In December 1917 he was Dismissed from HM forces and returned to NZ. He was a lovely gentle man, I recall from when I was a very young child. He died in 1952 at Lower Hutt.
