Roy was killed in the attack on Bellevue Spur 12/08/1917. After the war, comrades told his family that a shell landed and Roy vanished. On the night of his death, family said his mother had woken screaming that Roy had been killed. It was not till some time later that they received the telegram saying he was missing.
