Allan was the love of my grandmothers (Eddie) life, though we never met him, and she didn't speak of him often we were well aware of this, and his name was always mentioned in hushed tones. The picture of him always hung on her bedroom wall and no wonder she fell in love with him, what a handsome man. As the years go by and we learn more and more about World War One, the more grateful we are that he and his mates were prepared to leave our beautiful country and fight for our right to live in peace. We have been to the museum to view the photos that our Mum (Joyce) donated for safe keeping, the staff are always so helpful to provide this service which is much appreciated. Allan, your name lived on with our late brother, Allan John, and now has been passed on to his grandchild Cameron Allan, long May this tradition continue! Christine
