Percy Salmon was born on 30 June 1877 at "Joughin House", Mt Eden, Auckland. He died 26 January 1966, Auckland He was Editor of Fernleaf and other RSA magazines and of Printers News. He wrote articles in Auckland newspapers under names Percy Parr and Lamson. Details from military service: Lieutenant Percy Salmon in the Seddon Horse and Mounted Rifle Volunteers, 2 Sep 1903. Signed Ranfurly, GOVERNOR; R Seddon (stamp). Great War 1914 - 1918: Lieutenant Percy Salmon - two certificates: appointing him 3 August and 10 August 1916. Discharge certificate: Captain Percy Salmon, # 22688 New Zealand Expeditionary Forces. Awarded British War Medal, Victory Medal; Served in Western European "Theatre of War" 1916, 1917, 1918; in NZ: 197 Days; overseas: 3 Years 67 Days; Commenced duty: 5 Mar 1916; invalided out to England; finally discharged 23 Nov 1919.
