Like so many returned servicemen the atrocities of war that you witnessed haunted you after your return. I never knew you, although I know you knew my Great Grandfather. Your pain reaches across the years to me and I can barely even begin to understand the horror that you witnessed. Thank you for your sacrifice - although you did not die on the battlefield, you are every bit as much of a hero as your friends that did. Know that you are remembered, this and every ANZAC day. Rest In Peace. x
