Great Granddad I was young when I knew you but old enough to come to your rest home and play (probably very badly) the recorder. I was so proud that you might want to listen. I always loved our visits. I still have a wee flannel man and the yellow soap that made up his body that you gave me one day. I think one of the elderly people made it to fundraise in the home. I am also very proud that someone I knew and loved was able to help during the war. You were a lucky man to come out alive and let us all be. I lay a poppy here to celebrate all your good doings along with all the other soldiers and war staff such a long time ago but never to be forgotten. Love always Jo x
