Pop lost a leg from wounds at Pacchendaele. He was an amazing contributer to society. Advocated for a LIMB services run by the Government to help to soldiers who like him were struggling with rudimentry limbs before- visited Russia, USA etc looking for the best of techniques. Went to the UN just after it was established with two current serving or past Prime Minsters as a workers representative to advocate minimum wages and basic human workers rights across the world. Was awarded an OBE for services to the Arbitration Court and Prosthetic services. Pop died of emphasema in Palmerston North in 1969.
