Bernard John Jenkins

: A Hanging in Damascus, close-up
: This is a close-up view of the hanging shown in the previous photo. The photo shows a man who has been hanged, still hanging from the scaffold. Alongside it is an image of what was written on the back of the photo. The words state: "This is was happens to bad men in the country. All executions take place in the main towns in public places & the body left hanging. This was in Damascus." The handwriting is that of my father, Bernie/Bernard John Jenkins, who took the photo and wrote this statement on the back of it, during WWII. The original photo was provided to me by my brother John Charles Jenkins.
: The photo is one of a series of tiny photos taken by my father, Bernie/Bernard John Jenkins, during WWII; he sent these photos to his wife back home in New Zealand. The photo was provided to me by my brother John Charles Jenkins, who encouraged me to upload it to this site.
