The photo shows a man who has been hanged, still hanging from the scaffold. Alongside it is an image of what was written on the back of the photo. The words state: "This is was happens to bad men in the country. All executions take place in the main towns in public places & the body left hanging. This was in Damascus." The handwriting is that of my father, Bernie/Bernard John Jenkins, who took the photo and wrote this statement on the back of it, during WWII. The original photo was provided to me by my brother John Charles Jenkins.
