Bernard John Jenkins

: Jesuit Church (French) and Virgin's Tree
: This is a photo of a Jesuit Church (French), next to the Virgin's Tree. The photo was taken for my father, Bernie/Bernard John Jenkins, (on his camera) who is shown walking at front right, trying to get out of the picture. Written on the back, in my father's handwriting are the words: "I was trying to walk away so as not to spoil the picture but was too late. This is the Jesuit Church (French) next to the Virgin's Tree. You will find the name of it on the card I sent to Kathleen." The written message on the back of the photo was for his wife, back home in New Zealand. The reference to "Kathleen" is referring to his younger sister. The photo is one of a series of tiny photos taken by my father, Bernie/Bernard John Jenkins, during WWII; he sent these photos to his wife back home in New Zealand. The photo was provided to me by my brother John Charles Jenkins, who encouraged me to upload it to this site.
