: George Bertrand's Aunt & Uncle Rebekah & Charles Everett
: Emigrated alone in 1856 as a 16 year old boy, aboard the British Immigrant ship 'Sandford' to New Plymouth to live with his mother's sister - and his aunt - Rebekah Everett -nee Hunt- (born London 1812; died Nelson 1882; buried Te Henui Cemetery, New Plymouth) and her husband Charles Everett (1812-1878) - later Captain Charles Everett (of the Taranaki Militia). Rebekah and Charles Everett had emigrated to New Zealand, with other Everett family members , in 1853 aboard 'Sir Edward Paget'. The Everett's owned a farm at Bell Block, Taranaki District where George worked with his Uncle Charles after arriving from England to New Plymouth. Charles and Rebekah Everett had very close ties to the Atkinson and Richmond families - who were also aboard the 'Sir Edward Paget'.
