Describe the image: Born on the 19th April 1921 at Ashburton, the son of William John and Lilian Annie Sampson (née Dunning), of Ashburton, Canterbury New Zealand. A truck driver for Mid-Canterbury Transport Company prior to service. A total of 470 flying hours logged and having completed 20 operational sorties (Information courtesy Errol Martyn)
