Describe the image: This is a photo of Willie that would have been sent back to family and friends could have been taken in NZ before he embarked or in France
Where did your information come from?: Having taken an interest some years ago when researching my Wife’s Grandfather’s role in the war and through my sisters ancestry research I found that Willie had died during the war years so as all of my closer realtives were Miners and so excempt I persued this lead and found he had emigrated from the UK to NZ when he was a boy, he is related to me via my Mothers side of the Pickering family. I will add more into the documents when I have more time as I have found out a fair bit
