Panel Discussion

Noelle McCarthy chairs this panel discussion about the food of our city – the restaurants, the ingredients, and the changing flavours of kitchens around Tāmaki Makaurau. Panelists include Connie Clarkson, the Singapore-born author of Asian Flavours who has an intricate knowledge of Asian cuisine found in Auckland; as well as Paul Spoonley, Distinguished Professor Massey University, who has studied food introduced by migrant communities. They are joined by Te Kohe Tuhaka, actor and chef of Marae Kai Masters fame, and Ben Bayly, executive chef at The Grove and Baduzzi, with a background working in Michelin-starred restaurants in London and France.

Food Demonstration

See a demonstration by the team at Coco's Cantina, a family-run restaurant in K' Road specialising in rustic Italian with influences from across the Mediterranean. Hear from sisters Renee and Damaris Coulter, and chef Guiherme 'Will' Bezerra.
