Tāmaki Paenga Hira Auckland War Memorial Museum started FY 2021/22 with ambitious goals, but the year quickly turned into a game of two halves. At the August 2021 lockdown, the Museum pivoted again to be a virtual museum, with Auckland Museum at Home our online front door, and our people once again a remote workforce. An amazing success of this period was the more than 11,000 new records that were added to Online Cenotaph by our visitor hosts and volunteers working from home.
Despite the many challenges Covid-19 presented in 2021-2022, we have had many notable achievements, growing our online reach and engagement both nationally and globally, and now being recognised as the leading online museum in Australasia.
