Skills and experience
We want our volunteers to have a rewarding and enjoyable time working at Auckland War Memorial Museum so the interests and skills of all applicants are carefully matched with suitable volunteer vacancies.
Some types of volunteers roles are only available when vacancies occur, or when training programmes are about to start. We have waitlists for these positions and encourage applicants to register their interest with us for these roles.
Your application is kept on file for at least six months in case a vacancy should arise. Find out more about types of volunteer roles and current volunteering vacancies.
Making a commitment
Priority is given to volunteers who are making a long term commitment to volunteering, and all applicants must be prepared to accept a police check of their background.
Volunteers must be over 18 years of age and there is no upper age limit.
Before you apply for a position, please think carefully about your reasons for volunteering, and also how it will fit in with your other commitments. We value reliability above all, and you will find the experience far more rewarding if your commitment is whole hearted and well thought out.
