Under the Dome

Under the Dome is the perfect versatile location for larger events. The venue boasts near-360-degree views of Auckland city and the Waitematā Harbour that stun both day and night. 

  • Seat up to 450 guests or 500 standing or 600 theatre for your event.
  • Two pre-function spaces accommodating 120 guests each.
  • Available during the day and evening, 7 days a week.

Te Ao Mārama South Atrium

Te Ao Mārama South Atrium

Invite your guests to step into Te Ao Mārama, the Museum's spectacular architectural award-winning South Atrium. The large and modern space can be transformed to host all manner of evening events. 

  • Seats up to 300 banquet guests.
  • 400 guests for cocktails standing or theatre-style events.
  • Available 6 evenings each week.

Grand Foyer

The Grand Foyer is the neo-classical heart of Auckland Museum. Host your event among the iconic columns of central Auckland's most elegant heritage venue.

  • Seat up to 150 guests for a gala dinner.
  • Host 300 guests at a cocktail-style function.
  • Available for evening events 6 days a week.

Whaowhia

Perfect for intimate events, Whaowhia is the wood-panelled art deco boardroom of the original Museum building.

  • Seats up to 16 people for business meetings or private events.
  • Full audiovisual and separate kitchenette facilities available.
  • Available days and evenings, 7 days a week.

The Auditorium and Lobby are the Museum's modern end-to-end conference spaces purpose-built for your next presentation or lecture. 

  • Seat up to 199 guests. 
  • Lobby pre-function space to accommodate 199 guests.

  • Available during the evening, 7 days a week.

Familiar with all our venues, our caterers may be able to offer extra assistance in arranging the detail of your event – whether that’s choosing the perfect table settings or designing a special themed menu.
