We are open from 9am to 5pm every day of the school holidays.
Open late for Twilight Tuesday until 8.30pm.

MUSEUM PRICES

General admission to Auckland Museum is free for Auckland residents, by donation for New Zealand residents from outside Auckland, and ticketed for international visitors.

Auckland residents

General admission: FREE

If you live in Auckland, general admission to Auckland Museum is free. Please bring proof of your Auckland address or your MyMuseum card when you visit.

Charges may apply for some special exhibitions, events and experiences.

New Zealand residents

General admission: By donation

If you live in New Zealand but outside Auckland, you can visit Auckland Museum by donation. Your contribution helps support the Museum and its collections, exhibitions and programmes.

International visitors

International visitors to Auckland Museum pay general admission.

We have discounted tickets while some of our galleries are closed until October 1 2026.

Adult: NZ$27

Child (5–15 years): NZ$13.50

Child under 5: FREE

Family (2 adults + 2 children): NZ$72

All prices are in New Zealand dollars (NZD).

School groups

Booking your New Zealand school group visit is essential and service fees may apply. Find out more about the Museum's education programmes and school visits.

Weird & Wonderful

During the term we will host school groups as part of our education programme in the Weird and Wonderful gallery. At these times access to the central part of the space will be restricted. We welcome visitors either side of these times.
