Our Maori cultural performance is recognised as being one of the leading Maori cultural experiences in New Zealand.  Our cultural group are here under the blessing of Ngati Whatua, our local iwi, or people of this land.

Performers from our Maori Cultural Experience will take you on a guided tour of our magnificent Maori gallery. Find out about the special place Maori have here at the Museum and gain a deeper understanding of Maori culture and the taonga (treasures) within the Museum. Our performers and guides are the face of Ngati Whatua O Orakei, the home tribe (mana whenua) of Auckland (Tamaki Herenga Waka).

Tickets
Tickets for the performance are on a first come, first served basis and may be purchased from the Museum customer service counters.  If you are late you may miss out.

Arrival
All groups wishing to see the show should be at Auckland Museum 15 minutes prior to the start of the show.

The Museum is open every day from 10am until 5pm, except Christmas Day (25 December) when the Museum is closed to visitors.  There are no cultural performances on ANZAC Day, 25 April. All prices are GST inclusive.

Groups

Schools
New Zealand Pre-school, Primary, Intermediate and Secondary School Groups - $7.50 per student, $15.00 per adult. Pre-schoolers under 5 years of age- free of charge.
