Ipu popo

human history

Ipu popo. Coconut shell ornamental vase. This vase includes two polished half coconut shells attached to a small wooden stand. The ipu popo appears to be a contemporary design perhaps of European influence. It is brown in overall colour. This decorative ipu popo was collected by J. H. Robinson, who was a customs officer in Samoa from World War I until 1930.
