Aluga

human history

Aluga. Pillow. Woven from laufala (pandanus leaf), this aluga is rectangular in shape, with six sides. There is a stuffing of some sort within, to help keep its shape and to make it softer to use as a pillow. The front face of the aluga is overlaid with black dyed laufala. The patterns are geometric and decorative.
