Kili fai
human history
Kili fai. Paku fai. Stingray skin. Paku fai (stingray skin) is used as sandpaper. When canoes have been beached for a long period of time, paku fai is used to freshen up the hull for reuse. Also when moss has grown on the surface, paku fai is used to clean it off. This paku fai is slightly curled inwards at the edges and the topside of the skin is rough, similar to sandpaper.
