human history

Pōhaku lūhe'e. Octopus lure sinker. Otherwise referred to as a coffee bean sinker in reference to its curved surface, grooved centre and flat base. It is a light grey tone with some red staining on the surface. Its weight and flat base is ideal in the use of compiling a makau he'e leho (Octopus lure). It is speckled in texture showing it is pōhaku wahine (female stone).
