Oe. Paddle. Carved from a single piece of wood. Possibly coconut wood. Rapa (blade) is pointed with slight lug at tip. The butt-end of kakau (handle) is flat. The front of the rapa (blade) is decorated with parau (mother of pearl) shells. Two are cut into triangular shapes, and five are cut into circular shapes. The back of the rapa (blade) and top of the kakau (handle) is decorated with six circular shaped parau (mother of pearl shells). There are also two triangular shapes carved into the front of the rapa (blade) and top of kakau (handle). They are coloured red and black, possibly rendered in paint. Brown in colour.
