It is rectangular in form and has been made with a hinged lid. Its entirety has been made to portray a book but made for the purpose of a receptacle. The lid features a range of engravings. The first being a profile of the Pitcairn island. Below this is text in upper case that reads: 'Pitcairn Island. Greetings Best wishes from over the sea. From Pitcairn Island. The home of the mutineers of the H.M.S. Bounty. From Roy Clarkson'.
