    Trumpet shell (English)

  • Description

    Davui. Trumpet shell. This large davui (Charonia tritonis) has a small hole cut near the tip of the davui to produce sound when blown. The outside surface of the davui is crusty with lime and barnacle growth in an off-white colour with spots of red. The inside of the davui is a light pink and orange colour with brown streaks.
