Tanoa. Yaqona (kava) bowl. Carved from kau (wood), circular in shape and mid brown in colour. Inner bowl has depth with yellow-coloured patina from past yaqona use. Four yava (legs) and a small bito (lug) carved on underside of the bowl. The carved bito has two drilled holes with magimagi (coconut sennit) threaded through. The surface of the tanoa is smooth and polished, with some wear and also a large chip on the rim.
