Bwara. Plaited hat. Made to use as an eyeshade. This hat is made from dried pandanus leaves, which were stripped down and woven together. Its entirety is in the shape of a squared, horizontal hat with an envelope-type interior A cross-sectional opening is created on base of hat between opposite vertices. This opening allows the hat to be pulled over the head. A thin chin strap, made of plaited pandanus fibres, is suspended into the roof of hat through the opening. The body of the hat is of a natural, light brown colour whereas the chin strap is alternately dark brown and natural, light brown.
