    Aroa Ipukarea. Tivaevae manu applique quilt, red hibiscus on yellow ground. The hibiscus design is cut from cotton fabric and handsewn onto a large yellow cotton fabric using dark and light red threading. The reverse side reveals needlework from the stitching of hibiscus design onto backing.
