Chisel handle of te buangui

Chisel handle of te buangui (whale tooth). Possibly made by a whaler. Round in cross section. Ground and polished to a high degree with two turned grooves near the base of the handle. The buangui is yellowed in surface colour. This handle was highly prized by the i-Kiribati owner from which it was obtained.
