- PILOT OFFICER’S DEATH
News of the death of their son, Pilot-Officer Ernest William Bright, in England, was received to-day by Mr. and Mrs. H. E. Bright, Gisborne. Pilot-Officer Bright was 26 years of age, and while in Gisborne was prominent in tennis and rowing. He had been in England for only a short time, having left Canada early in December, after training there under the Empire air training scheme. Pilot-Officer Bright is the second of the family to meet his death within a few months, his brother, Private Cyril Lincoln (Dick) Bright, having been killed in Libya.Public - Lorraine Mona - Researcher - 23 June 2023 - GISBORNE HERALD, VOLUME LXIX, ISSUE 20700, 26 FEBRUARY 1942, PAGE 7 - Memorial name
