Biographical information
- Son of Henry Charles Pullar, and of Ethel Pullar (nee Welsh), of Otahuti, Southland, New Zealand. (Otautau incorrectly spelled on CWGC record)
Attended Otautau School (Source: RNZAF Biographies (R17845614))
Sergeant Henry (“Mick”) Pullar of Otautau, a 25-year-old RNZAF air gunner with the 75th NZ Bomber Squadron (RAF), was killed when his aircraft was shot down over Vechta, Germany, in 1942. Partial remains discovered during construction work in 2019 were later confirmed by DNA as belonging to Pullar. After years of identification and delays caused by COVID-19, his remains were interred with his crew at Rheinberg War Cemetery in August 2025. AWMM - I am his nephew. The above should be corrected to Otautau SOuthland. During a property redevelopment at vechta airport human remains and ww2 plane were found. Our family was contacted and DNA samples sent to Germany. In December 2020 it was confirmed that the bones were the remains of our uncle. By googling Henry pullar this information will be confirmed.Public - Ken - Other relative - 7 April 2021 - Louise.dorr100@mod.gov.uk
