    Admitted to No 16 Casualty Clearing Station, Anzac, 5 September 1915 (enteric); transferred to St David's Hospital, Malta, 10 September 1915; to England, 15 September 1915, and admitted to 2nd Western General Hospital, Manchester, 23 September 1915; discharged to NZ Convalescent Depot, Hornchurch (date not recorded).
    Proceeded overseas to France, 12 May 1916; rejoined 1st Bn, Canterbury Infantry Regiment, in the field, 7 July 1916.
    Wounded in action, 16 July 1916 (gun shot wound, left shoulder); admitted to No 14 Stationary Hospital, Boulogne, 17 July 1916; transferred to England, 20 July 1916, and admitted to 2nd London General Hospital, Chelsea, 20 July 1916.
    Transferred to No 1 NZ General Hospital, Brockenhurst, 4 August 1916; to NZ Convalescent Hospital, Hornchurch, 29 September 1916; to No 3 NZ General Hospital, Codford, 7 February 1917.
    Died, lumbar pneumonia, 12 February 1917.
