Taken by notable local photographer Tudor Collins, this heart-warming set of photos shows US servicemen stationed at Warkworth, a provincial town in northern New Zealand during the Second World War.

In celebration of Tongan Language Week (4 – 10 Sep 2016) we installed a kiekie in our Te Kākano display case. Cecelia Taukapo selected the work and wrote both the English and Tongan labels.
Our second display for the Pacific Collection Access Project was co-curated with Tauraki Raea, who selected the works and wrote both the English and Cook Islands display text.
As part of the Pacific Collection Access Project, Auckland Museum and artist Benjamin Work co-curated a display. The display text was in both English and Tongan. The text was translated by Hūfanga Dr ‘Ōkusitino Māhina.
