Kōrero taurongo
- Attended Wesley College, was a noted Rugby player. Husband of Barbara Anne Jane married Registry Office, Wandsworth District, 20 February 1918.
Served 4 years 217 days; of which 4 years 70 days were overseas.
Tuheka Hetet wrote from the front in August 1915 describing recent fighting involving the Māori Contingent. He notes that Te Rehe Amohanga (“Brownie”) was among those who remained in good health following a series of engagements, including a night attack on Turkish positions that secured ground through close bayonet fighting. Hetet records heavy casualties within the contingent, with many men wounded and numbers significantly reduced. His account highlights both the intensity of the fighting and the continued service of Ngāti Maniapoto men alongside wider New Zealand forces.

Rehe Te Amohanga went to Parliament to make a submission to a Select Committee. In front of them all, he took off his medals and threw them in the rubbish bin, shocking the committee. He stated that this is what these medals mean for returned Māori soldiers because they never received the same benefits as non-Māori. After the committee finished, and before making their findings public, they went to visit Rehe at his home in the King Country. They informed him that Māori returned soldiers would now have the same benefits as non-Māori and the chairperson presented him with his medals again.
