- ASH.-—ln loving memory of our dear son and brother,' Private Henry Edwin (Harry) Ash, aged 22 years, killed in action on 4th October, 1917, at Passchendaele Ridge. How sudden God calls.
In a moment he fell.
Not the slightest of notice was given,
He had not time to bid his comrades good-bye, .
But was called to his father in Heaven.
Some day we hope to meet him,
Some day we know not when,
We will clasp his band in the Better Land
And never part again.
