EXIT Films.

Cinema has a rich history in Auckland. The first kiriata (film) ever shot in Auckland was made by WH Bartlett in 1898. He captured a band playing at the opening of the Auckland Industrial and Mining Exhibition. Auckland has been on screen ever since.

The theatre space in Taku Tāmaki – Auckland Stories features a series of tales as told by some very imaginative Auckland school children. Kids from all over Auckland were asked:

“If you could make a film set in Auckland what would it be about?”

Four of their stories were turned into films thanks to EXIT Films. Check out the full project below:
