  • I am doing a project where my class "adopted" a soldier of the Wellington Mounted Rifles and I have greatly enjoyed exploring the history and life of Mervyn Francis Cox, from his family to his war experience. I hope to find out more information not only about Mervyn, but about other soldiers on this website.

  • As Cox and Turnley family descendants, we remember you, Mervyn Francis Cox, for your involvement in WW1. Sadly, along with your brothers, George Turnley Cox and Norman Davidson Cox, you did not survive the war. Thankfully brothers. . . Capt Edward Percy Cox, Cecil Turnley Cox and Stuart Leslie Cox, survived. All sons of Edward George and Louisa Cox of Wanganui, NZ and formerly of Melbourne, Australia. And grandsons of John Francis Cox and Lavinia Annie Turnley of Hobart, Tasmania and then Melbourne. We will always remember you. Patricia Egerton, Brisbane, Australia
