    Wounded in action, 8 May 1915 (bullet wound, foot); admitted same day to HS 'Braemar Castle'; disembarked Malta, 18 May 1915, and admitted same day to St George's Hospital; discharged from hospital, 17 june 1915; disembarked Alexandria, 27 June 1915.
    Embarked Alexadria for Gallipoli, 3 July 1915; rejoined Bn, 8 July 1915.
    Admitted to NZ Field Ambulance, 17 July 1915; transferred same day to 3rd Light Horse Field Ambulance, Mudros (influenza); discharged to duty, 23 July 1915; rejoined unit, Gallipoli, 24 July 1915.
    Promoted Sergeant, 20 August 1915.
    Admitted to No 1 Canadian Stationary Hospital, 19 September 1915 (enteritis); embarked for England, 21 October 1915; admitted to Alexandra Hospital, Cosham, 27 October 1915.
