  • William was a great friend of my grandfather Archie Robertson who worked at the Puponga mine with William. After he died Archie wrote a poem in his memory, called Dedicated to the Memory of William Ewart Hall. No-one in the family knew who he wrote it for until we researched the electoral rolls and found them in there. I believe he was very fine man by what my grandfather wrote about him and it is tragedy he lost his life at Gallipolli as did so many others. May he rest peacefully on those distant shores...Lest we forget
