  • Kia Ora Pappa Ko Coral ahau Ko Buddy taku papa Ko Natawaitote taku koro I am one of many moko, from your only son. Your moko have enjoyed many successes and achievements in their lives, brought about by your sacrifice to provide us with liberty and freedom. I will forever proud and thankful to you for this selfless act for us, but I am also profoundly sad, that we never got the opportunity to meet you. My heart is heavy every ANZAC day, as I think of the things we missed out on, because you were not here. But I take comfort that you are resting in the lands of friendly people who continue to care for you and your comrades to this very day. I pray the opportunity presents itself for me to come to you, there in Belgium. Until then..... Kei te aroha au ki a koe

I am the grand daughter and namesake of your eldest daughter Hoana. My mother was Agnus however being a sick women our Grandmother Hoana raised my brother Stanley and I. You would have been proud of your daughter as she was indeed a women of her people. She gave us the best and now because of this and her values I have ensured my 5 children have been taught the same lessons. From me Paapa you have 4 great grand daughters and 1 grand son. My eldest daughter is educated in Social Services, our second daughter is in her final year of Student Doctor and will graduate Nov 2016 with our 3rd daughter starting her medical journey with daughter 4 and son in high school.
