    • Son of Rhoda Beatrice Rope and Edward Richard Rope.

      Charles Rope was wounded at Gallipoli 8 August 1915, he rejoined his unit at Gallipoli 8 November 1915, then served at the Canal from January 1916.

      Before the War he served with the Auckland Training College Cadet Officers Training Corps.

      Attended Auckland University College (now the University of Auckland).

      Auckland War Memorial Museum 'Scars on the Heart WWI': "The En Zeds" display case includes the Roll Book of the Auckland Mounted Rifles. The Roll Book contains names and details of those who served in Egypt, Gallipoli, Sinai and Palestine. AWMM
    • Charles Manfred Rope is the son of Edward Mingay Rope and Emma Morley Powell. As both Edward and Rhoda Rope were born in 1883, this Charles Manfred is not their son. He is Edward Richard Rope's younger brother. Edward and Rhoda named their son Charles Manfred and he served in World War II. His record can also be found in the Cenotaph.
