Leave a tribute or memory of
William Gilbert Booth Bremner
Today, at the ANZAC Service in Panmure Victoria, the students from Brauer College Warrnambool read out the names of the Australian and NZ soldiers killed in the battle of Beersheeba. As each name was read out, a label with the soldiers' name and rank was tied with a poppy to a chain around the Lone Pine memorial.
One name read and noted in this was was you.
The label and the chain will now live in the Mechanics Institute in Panmure, and I will make sure that people who see it know that you came from Gisborne NZ. So do I.
We celebrated the links between NZ and Australia today, so it was fitting that you should be there with us and be named in this way.
