- Pilot Officer Hill was the son of Jack Stanley and Dorothy Helen Hill, of Spring Creek, Marlborough, New Zealand.

Killed in the Battle of Britain
Robert and Paulette Millar, of England, have known of Howard Hill for some time. Each year they place a new poppy on both Remembrance and Battle of Britain days. They also sponsored his name for the Battle Of Britain Memorial at Capel-le-Ferne near where he died. This year, 2009, they kindly sent photographs for Cenotaph.
