Private M. Sullings (Campo PG Gruppignano)
Letter: 4/1/1942
I am a prisoner of the Italians and being treated wonderfully, so please don't worry about me. I was wounded in the arm but it has completely healed. The camp here is a great place, we are living in huts with fires, good beds, plenty of blankets and even sheets. As it is the middle of winter, it's very cold, but we have a fair issue of warm clothing. The Red Cross send us a 10lb parcel of foodstuffs every week and believe me it's great. The parcels are absolutely wonderful.

Private M. Sullings (PG 57)
Letter: 16 June
We had a terrific electrical storm last night, the best display I've ever seen. Our parcels have been coming along regular lately and I have just finished eating a mixture of jam, milk power and margarine - a chap eats all sorts of queer mixtures here. It will be great to taste some good old home cooking again.
