Biographical information
- Thomas Taylor was the son of Sidney James Taylor and Evelyn May Taylor, of Koromiko, Marlborough, New Zealand.
Was on an airframe and engine test transisting from Ballykelly to Nutts Corner, in County Antrim. While flying a Liberator GR3 in cloudy weather at about noon struck Linnalary mountain, Goutnacory, County Antrim, killing all 8 on board.

Fg Off Michael Francis Dear (aged 20) and crew died 21st August 1942, whilst flying B-24 Liberator III LV340 OH-X with 120 Squadron.
The aircraft took-off from Ballykelly on an air test and flew into Limnalary Mountain, in bad weather, at Carnlough, County Antrim with the loss of all those on board.
Whilst recorded as an air test most other aircraft in this area had been grounded due to the weather so why was this air test authorized. There is some doubt over this and as to what was the real purpose of the flight.
The crew consisted of Sgt Arnolous Bothma Meyer, Plt Off Albert Benjamin Gomperts, Sgt Charles Humphrey, Sgt Robert Ainslie, Sgt Thomas William Taylor RNZAF (from Marlborough NZ), Sgt Ivan Victor McQuay and Group Captain Harry King Goode DSO DFC AFC.
