- Obituary
- TOKOMARU BAY
It was with great regret that the residents here this morning heard of the death of J. L. Jory, who has been killed in action at the Dardanelles. He formerly worked in the Post Office here, and was very well known and respected. He joined the third reinforcements simultaneously with J. Steele and F. G. Akermann, two co-workers at the. Post Office. Unfortunately some little time back J. Steele was wounded, and later died from his injuriesPublic - Lorraine Mona - Researcher - 22 May 2023 - POVERTY BAY HERALD, VOLUME XLII, ISSUE 13760, 12 AUGUST 1915, PAGE 5 - Memorial name
