To'i fafau. Hafted adze. To'i fafau (hafted adze) is a multipurpose tool used for carving wood and other materials. The adze stone is lashed onto the wooden haft with 'afa (sennit). The haft is carved from a black coloured wood there is 'afa wrapped around the base of the handle. The adze is dark grey in colour and the cross section is semi circular in shape with the back flattened. The cutting edge is straight with no bevel and smooth with chips along the right side.
