i Roi

human history

i Roi. Fly whisk. Made from composite materials. The i Roi consists of a long handle and shaft, possibly of bamboo, that is round in section with ulu ni ose (horse hair) attached as the whisk. The strands of pale yellow ulu ni ose (horse hair) are straight and glossy, and together create a thick and lush texture. They are long in length and attached securely to a thinner wooden stick protruding from the main shaft of the liga where a gold metal cap secures the top. At the grip end of the liga is another metal cap, possibly of brass, sealing this end with a crook made of bone fastened to the butt
